We’re launching a $25,000 fund drive to build a ceramics studio in Namungoona
Namungoona Children’s Art Center was founded in 2015 to provide free art workshops to kids living in impoverished neighborhoods around Kampala. Since then, over 5,000 children have taken part in our workshops...learning painting, drawing, clothing design, tie-dye and many other skills.

Some of our students sell their work in local markets to help pay school fees and support their family. Some who joined the Center at age 8 or 9, now return to teach the younger kids. Others are studying art in universities. Several former students have opened their own businesses producing apparel, printing, and graphic design. Our classrooms have become so popular we’re overcrowded and need to expand. So we’re launching a fund drive to build a ceramics studio to produce small sculptures and household items we can sell in shops in the U.S. and Europe.

Our goal is $25,000 which would pay for a new 400 square foot building adjacent to our existing classrooms and related gear including a kiln, and related furniture and equipment. We've raised about $6,000 so far.
